Warrior Sparring Gear is the Safest Choice

Did you know Macho Martial Arts was the first and only manufacturer to perform safety testing on sparring gear?

We believe one injury is one too many, especially if the injury could have easily been prevented with the right gear. Over the years, Macho gear has been vigorously tested with repetitive striking tests at various speeds and intervals. Our number one priority is to keep martial artists safe and we achieve this by being the only manufacturer to perform safety testing.

In 2015, the British Journal of Science and Medicine published test results in Dr. Andrew McIntosh’s paper “The impact performance of headguards for combat sports”, which proved, yet again, that Macho Warrior is superior to the competition.

According to the study, “frontal and lateral drop tests onto the rigid flat anvil, the Macho Warrior was the best performing model, and the Adidas Taekwondo was the worst performing model.”

* Graph shows the amount of force that would transfer to the head at 0.6m, the equivalent of 33 joules of force.

The lower the number the safer the gear.

Also noted in the study is the lack of regulation for headgear manufacturers. The dramatic difference in the results also demonstrate that even though gear may look the same and even feel the same, there can be a dramatic difference in the level of safety for martial artists.

Macho is a Warrior. Our designs have been copied, but only on the surface. Macho’s expertise in understanding safety makes us the proven leader in martial arts.

When you buy Macho, you can be confident in these three facts:
  1. It's been tested and we have the data to prove it is safe and effective.
  2. Macho gear is made in our exclusive factory where quality is monitored and follows ISO strict manufacturing standards of quality and is CPSIA compliant.
  3. Macho gear is superior for comfort, fit, mobility and safety. Top athletes choose Macho.

When deciding which gear to buy, don’t be fooled by imitation designs. Demand to know where your gear is coming from and if it has been tested for safety.
